The Chapman Ambassadors are highly motivated student leaders who serve as the face of the Chapman student body at numerous high-profile campus events. They provide personal interaction with the Chapman community and friends of the university. Members are chosen through a detailed application and interview process. Nikkei Student Union was established in 2016 at Chapman University, and its purpose is to create a space for the Japanese-American (JA), the Japanese community, and friends at Chapman University to hang out, meet new people, and share experiences. This club raises awareness about Japanese and JA history, culture, and traditions and is not exclusive to those who identify with the JA and Japanese community. We welcome individuals from all backgrounds.

The term Nikkei was a term first used to describe those who emigrated out of Japan. However, it has become a reclaimed term and serves as an umbrella term for those who have returned to Japan, are Japanese Brazilian, are a quarter Japanese, full Japanese, Japanese-American, those who identify and appreciate the culture, and so on.
